Working with Models in PBScloud.io

Overview

Learn how to:

  1. Use preset models available in PBScloud.io
  2. Clone and edit a model
  3. Save, publish and unpublish a model
  4. Set default values for components
  5. Create a model using the model editor

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials for PBScloud.io
  • Authorization to edit, save and publish models

What is a Model?

A model is a template of a cluster definition composed of compute, storage, network and application resources. This definition is used to deploy an appliance on a cloud service provider.

PBScloud.io contains the following preset models

  • PBS Works 13.0 Model
  • HyperWorks 14.0

PBS Works 13.0 Model

PBS Works 13.0 Model

This model is composed of three nodes: The head (pbs-head-node), compute_mom (pbs-explicit-node) and the graphical_mom (pbs-graphical-node). A base system containing the Operating System and predefined users is installed all the nodes. The PBS Pro Server, PBS Access Server and the NFS and NIS Servers are installed in the head node. The NFS and NIS Agents are installed in the compute_mom and graphical_mom nodes. The PBS Pro Compute Agent is installed in the compute_mom node and the PBS Pro Graphical agent is installed in the graphical_mom. The server and agent components are linked through mapping lines.

Hyper Works 14.0 Model

HyperWorks 14.0 Model

This model is composed of four nodes. The head (pbs-head-node), Implicit (pbs-implicit-node), explicit (pbs-explicit-node), and graphical (pbs-graphical-node). A base system containing the Operating System and predefined users is installed all the nodes. The PBS Pro Server, PBS Access Server and the NFS and NIS Servers are installed in the head node. HyperWorks Desktop and Solvers are installed in the head node. The NFS and NIS Agents are installed in the other nodes. The PBS Pro Compute Agent is installed in the Implicit and explicit nodes. The PBS Pro Graphical agent is installed in the graphical_mom. The server and agent components are linked through mapping lines. HyperWorks Desktop and solvers are linked to PBS Pro Server.

PBScloud.io models currently use a default internal method to manage Storage and Network options.
